About Us
The Kendallville Day Care Center, Inc. is not-for-profit and licensed by the State of Indiana through the Family and Social Services Administration, Division of Family and Children. We began in September 1971, caring for 20 children ages 3-5 at the Elmwood Mennonite Church. Outgrowing the church facilities, a city lot at 342 East Lisle Street was purchased and a modular classroom style building set on a permanent foundation. The center opened for 34 children on March 1, 1974. In September 1989, the center expanded to a licensed capacity of 105 children ages 3 years through kindergarten. In the summer of 2002, we expanded care services to include school age children through 12 years of age. November 6, 2000, the Kendallville Day Care Center had the honor of opening a second center located at 601 Orchard Place Parkway. The West Center is licensed for children six weeks through six years.
