Childhood memories—that is what we are making at Kendallville Day Care Center. Childhood is a time for creativity, imagination, exploration, and discovery. As adults, we reflect on our childhood with great fondness. We remember the wonder of novelty and cherish how life seemed a safe and simpler place.
Every child deserves the opportunity to develop their individual potential and for over 50 years of service to families within the community, Kendallville Day Care Center has devoted efforts to giving children opportunities to develop skills needed to face life’s challenges. Our mission is to “provide an educational foundation while caring for young children.”
What is not to love about a place that was designed just for children? Children have opportunities throughout the day to explore their ever-changing world and time for knowing it is okay to make mistakes because that is how they learn. There is time to play with friends on the playground, look at a book alone in the library area, assist their teacher in taking care of the garden, or playing in learning centers throughout the classroom; and after a busy morning, they have a comfortable place to curl up and rest their body. There is something for every child to develop their individual potential.

Greetings! My name is Tina Lee. I am excited to be a part of the Kendallville Day Care Center team! I will be working with the program curriculum and supporting the staff in their everyday needs! I have been working in early education for over 14 years. I obtained my associate degree in early childhood education in 2015, from Ivy Tech, and my bachelor’s degree in early education in 2017 from Purdue University. I am originally from California but have lived in Garrett for the past 20+ years. I grew up in the Albion area, graduated from Central Noble, and have recently moved back to Albion to be closer to family and our farm, where we raise rabbits, chickens, ducks, sheep, goats, and pigs! I have a 17-year-old daughter and two stepchildren, 17 and 19. I have coached youth athletics, soccer, and track, for over 20 years, and assist with 4H, FFA, and the Oasis Youth Center. I am also a published writer and photographer. I absolutely adore children! I am always seeking to observe, reflect, and grow from children and peers in my field and am a lifelong learner! I truly feel every child is a gift, has a story to tell, and each unique person has an important contribution to our society!
